2우리가 너희 모두로 말미암아 항상 하나님께 감사하며 기도할때에 너희를 기억함은
We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.
3너희의 믿음의 역사와 사랑의 수고와 우리 주 예수 그리스도에 대한 소망의 인내를 우리 하나님 아버지 앞에서 끊임없이 기억함이니
We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
4하나님의 사랑하심을 받은 형제들아 너희를 택하심을 아노라
For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you,
5이는 우리 복음이 너희에게 말로만 이른 것이 아니라 또한 능력과 성령과 큰 확신으로 된 것임이라 우리가 너희 가운데서 너희를 위하여 어떤 사람이 된 것은 너희가 아는 바와 같으니라
because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
